The Last of Us: Part I - is an updated version of the acclaimed action-adventure game with survival horror elements. The action takes place twenty years after a global epidemic caused by a mutated species of cordyceps fungus. It has turned most of the world's population into zombies and horrible monsters. Those who remain are forced to live in quarantine areas under military surveillance in an attempt to survive, as a bite or a spore in the lungs could easily send anyone to the afterlife. The story revolves around Joel, an experienced smuggler who lost his daughter early in the pandemic. He has to escort the girl Ellie halfway across the country to a pre-arranged destination, but during the long journey the two strangers become a full-fledged family ready to cope with all the difficulties that arise.
The original version of the game was released back in 2013 as a PlayStation exclusive. In its time, the project created a real sensation because of its original story and dynamic narrative, which showcased a realistic post-apocalyptic world, and the relationships between the characters.
